Native Grassland Community Planting
A community planting to help restore a native grassland reserve beside Aitken Creek in Craigieburn, where participants plant native grasses and wildflowers essential to the ecosystem. The reserve provides habitat for the endangered Golden Sun Moth, along with native bees, butterflies, lizards, frogs and birds. Gloves, sunscreen, planting tools, drinking water, pizzas for lunch and fruit snacks are provided, and a portable toilet is on site. Run by Hume City Council, with participants asked to wear weather-appropriate clothing and fully enclosed shoes and to bring a reusable drink bottle.
