Olives to Oil is an annual community event where participants bring harvested olives to be pressed communally into olive oil. Tickets are required to drop off olives at McNish 'Dinosaur Park' Reserve in Yarraville; quantities under 20kg are free, while larger amounts require a contribution. Participants must collect their finished oil on Saturday 18 July at Burnside Community Centre in Melton, and the program is open only to residents of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Melton councils. A free festival also runs on the same day for those without olives to contribute.
