Sonnwendfeier - Winter Solstice Bonfire
Join the Templer community at Bayswater for the annual Sonnwendfeier winter solstice bonfire celebration, featuring a spectacular bonfire, hearty German-style meals (Leberkäse, Weisswurst, frankfurts, salads), a lantern-making workshop, a lantern parade with the Blaskapelle brass band, a glow art installation, damper-making, and outdoor kids' activities. Meals are plated with seating, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. Registration is required this year to help organisers plan meals and seating. The event goes ahead in all weather — dress warmly and bring camp chairs and blankets for the communal firepits and marshmallow toasting.
